Taking a blog break due to a family emergency...

Hello everyone-

I wanted to pop in today and let you know that I will be taking a couple of months off to take care of my husband. He's been very sick for about a month and has been in and out of the hospital 3 times. At first they told us it was Osteoporosis but on the 23rd of December he was actually diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma a blood cancer. We are both in shock and my heart is truly breaking. He is only 56 yrs old so this cancer is rare for someone his age. He had his first Chemo treatment on Christmas Eve and I was finally able to bring him home from the hospital Christmas night. A true Christmas gift.

I can't do any type of crafting right now and my husband needs my full attention. It's going to be a couple of difficult months. He is in so much pain and this type of cancer makes him very week because the blood cancer attacks the bones and in his case dissolves part of them.

We are extremely happy with his new Oncologist/Hematologist and I'm sure he will get the best possible care. I'm staying positive for him and myself and pray that his treatment works well and makes him stronger.

Take care & hugs, Tammy

Vintage Christmas Page

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly and the theme this month is...
Vintage Christmas or Vintage Occasion.
I made a art journal page to fit my acrylic tabletop photo frame :) I used Authentique's Christmas Calendar Collection, Old Paper Distress ink and Tim Holtz Christmas stickers. I used a misc. stamp set for the year and that's it- a very quick and easy page!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you leave.

Snowflakes...

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today over at Try it on Tuesday and this time we want to see Snowflakes on your project!

I made a gift tag and card using Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes stamp set. They are colored with Copics and I added a little detailing with a white Posca Pen. The backgrounds were created by using a smooshing technique with acetate, Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio DO inks.
Once dry I mixed a very small about of Mermaid Lagoon ink & modeling paste and applied it through Newton's Nook Snowfall stencil. I really like how light in color the snowflakes turned out and below you can see the texture a little bit better :)
I used a Newton's Nook die for the trees, a MFT die for the 'joy' sentiment, a Memory Box die for the landscape and TH dies for the snowflakes & tag and that's about it!

Now head on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of my teammates beautiful creations!

Winter Wonderland

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
Winter Wonderland!

I made an art journal page to fit a acrylic tabletop flip photo frame. I wanted something compact to sit on my craft desk so each page will be 6.25x5 inches- just slightly smaller than the frame :)

For this page I used the adorable Tim Holtz/Sizzix Cozy Winter dies and the sentiments are from Carta Bella Warm Winter Wishes Set Stamp. I used SSS Falling Snow stencil and Brutus Monroe Alabaster Glitter Glaze for the snowy background.
Here's a close up- Isn't that bear adorable?!! I think this die set can be used for so many projects and themes!

Mini Christmas Tags

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly and the theme is...
Make it Small
So we want to see: Inchies, ATCs, Bookmarks, Gift Card Holders, Gift Tags and so on... as long as it is SMALL :)
I made some cute little gift tags and I used mostly Tim Holtz products: Christmas Minis dies, tag die, Christmas/Noel paper pad and classic kraft cardstock. The snowman paper is from The Paper Studio and I used a Spellbinders die for the scalloped circle. To finish them up I added twine and a small strip of matching paper inside of each tag and that's about it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Magical...

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
Make it Magical!

I made a Magical Christmas art journal page for my DT project :)
To start- I randomly stamped Penny Black's 'Christmas Story' on a piece of light kraft CS and heat embossed it with gold powder. I also embossed the 'holiday Magic starts from within' sentiment. Then I glued down my torn DP and Vintage Kaisercraft image. I cut the Tim Holtz Elf and Newton's Nook's trees out of green CS and coated them with Glitter Dust Spray. To finish it up I added some gold star sequins.
Here's a close up so you can see the sparkle and gold embossing a little better :)

gobble gobble...

Hello everyone!

Just a quick post from me today to share a Thanksgiving card and it features a very cute turkey from Scribbles Designs :)
It's colored with Copics and the sentiment is from Taylored Expressions. I used a Tim Holtz die for the tag, a Avery Elle die for the stitched rectangle and MFT dies for the circles. The fall papers are from my stash and to finish it up I added twine and a small punched leaf.

That's all for now... enjoy your day and thanks so much for stopping by!

BOO TIME

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is...
It's All About Time.

I made a fun Halloween art journal page featuring Tim Holtz Silly Monsters and Memory Box spider dies. For the background I used TCW Time Travel stencil, Mowed Lawn & Peeled Paint Distress inks. The dots were stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white powder.
I applied Tim Holtz Crazing Collage Medium through Darkroom Door's Polka Dot stencil in the corners for a little texture, it's very hard to see in the photo but it has a wonderful crackle effect IRL :) I added spider web Washi tape and the sentiment is made using my Dymo label maker.
I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of my teammates beautiful creations!
